ABOUT US
The Goslings Nursery School is based in the Borough Hall in Godalming town centre and caters for children between the ages of two to five years old. It currently operates during term times only with all sessions starting at 09.10 each morning.
Our Aims
The Goslings Nursery aims to create a happy, relaxed environment where learning and making new friends will be part of a busy day. Every child will be treated as an individual and be allowed to develop their skills at their own pace.
The daily routine will encompass craft work, painting, music , movement stories, creative and imaginative play as well as outdoor activities.
Materials available include dough, sand, water, puzzles, constructive toys, dressing up clothes as well as an extensive range of Montessori equipment.
These will aid motor and sensorial development as well as developing the early concepts of reading, writing and number work.
Montessori Learning
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Montessori is a method of education developed by Maria Montessori and is based on self-directed activity, hands-on learning and collaborative play. In Montessori classrooms children make creative choices in their learning, while the classroom and the teacher offer age-appropriate activities to guide the process. Children work in groups and individually to
discover and explore knowledge of the world and to develop their maximum potential. In Montessori learning
these are:
physical, emotional, practical, social, sensorial, maths, language, factual, cultural and creative.
